What a virtual try-on can—and cannot—tell you.

What the preview is for

The planned preview is intended to place selected frames in a live camera view and follow the user’s face position and orientation. This can support an appearance comparison: how a frame shape, color, scale, or silhouette looks in context.

The result remains a screen-based approximation. Camera angle, lighting, display settings, tracking quality, device characteristics, and the digital frame model may all affect what the user sees.

What it cannot confirm

A camera preview does not physically place a frame on the face. Mirae will not present the preview as confirmation of fit or optical suitability.

• Bridge contact, pressure, comfort, or slipping.
• Temple length, hinge behavior, or adjustment needs.
• Pupillary distance or lens centration.
• Prescription and lens compatibility.
• Medical suitability or eye-health advice.
• Exact real-world color, material, weight, or finish.

How to use the result

Use a virtual preview to create a shortlist, compare broad visual directions, and prepare better questions for a real try-on. Do not use it to order prescription eyewear solely on the assumption that an on-screen placement proves fit.

Final physical fit and optical requirements should be checked with the eyewear provider or an optician. If the digital preview and the physical frame differ, the physical product and professional measurements are the relevant sources.

Current product status

The Mirae application is still in development, and no release date has been announced. The final tracking behavior, supported devices, frame catalog, camera-processing architecture, and application privacy terms are not yet published.

This limitations page will need to be updated against the released implementation. Any future demonstration or evaluation should name its app version, device, conditions, date, and known failure cases.
